our shirts (soon to be yours)

-tri-blend shirts from American Apparel
-modern fitted
-very soft and cozy
-design is dyed into the fabric
-100% made in our USA
-eco-friendly inks & chemicals

All of our shirts are hand printed with great care. We use the best quality shirts and ink on the market. Our shirts have a very soft, light feel. The designs are actually dyed into the shirt so they feel very soft and last the lifetime of the shirt. Your average shirt is printed with a plastic based ink that cracks, feels hard and just doesn't look as good.

eco-friendly (go green)

The i Am brand has made a commitment to be as green as possible. Everything from our chemicals to our inks are eco-friendly. First off, all of the chemicals used during the screen process are organic based. We use an enviroline of chemicals that actually work better in some ways than the traditional methods. Sure it costs us a little more money, but its worth it. All of the inks we use are waterbased inks, meaning they contain a lot less harmful agents. They also give our shirts a very soft feel and vintage look. Don't worry about quality; the design printed on the shirt will probably outlive the shirt. We also try and reuse as much of our inks and chemicals as possible. Of course, we try and recycle anything we can. If you have any ideas for us shoot an email to us.

background (the dirt)

The i Am brand was founded by Matthew Perret, a 24 year-old airline pilot looking to live the dream and give back. After flying for 3 years and feeling very fortunate, Matt wanted to start a business that he could express his creativity and give back at the same time. After months of brainstorming and conversating the idea came about from a mix of other ideas he had been contemplaiting since high-school. In a about a year, Matt created a website with over 160 designs, closed in his carport, bought a screenprinter, and began selling. The i Am brand is a testiment to the fact that with a little ambition you can do anything. Our goal is to provide our customers with not only a t-shirt, but with a lifestlye of giving, happiness, and inspiration. The rest is history.

charities (we give a shirt)

Our Good Goes Around Fund is an idea that we came up with in order to help young entrepreneurs get on their feet. We feel that we were very fortunate and had a lot of support from family and friends in kick starting The i Am Brand. We also realize that many people are not as fortunate. Entrepreneurship is key to the future of our country, promoting innovative ideas creating more jobs and benefitting our economy a whole. Unfortunately, it is getting harder and harder to start a business in today's environment. Five percent of the profit from every shirt is put into our Good Goes Around Fund. Each year a young, aspiring entrepreneur is chosen to receive the money built up in our fund. This seed money will help the entrepreneur possibly buy a piece of equipment, pay their lease or hire an employee. If you would like to nominate someone for the Good Goes Around Award please email matt@theiambrand.com

lucky beans (get lucky)

With the purchase of each shirt you will recieve a free lucky bean. During one of Sicily's severe famines, the fava bean thrived while other crops failed. It was originally grown for animal fodder, but because of its amazing resilience, it became the sustaining food of the farmers and their families. The dried bean is commonly called the "lucky bean." Legend has it that the person who carries a lucky bean will never be without coins. So buying a shirt will not only make you look good, but if you are lucky enough it could bring you some coin.
